Emilia comes from a family of musicians, her father played the violin in several local bands, her mother was a piano teacher, Emilia studied music in her native country, Bulgaria. As a singer, she won the Orphée d’Or, an international competition comparable to the Eurovision Song Contest. This victory brought her international success with performances all over the world. She has lived in Belgium since 1997 and performs with different groups, as a singer and as a violinist. When invited by the Kalinka Ensemble she sings a repertoire of Russian and Balkan music.
